What is Workflow Energy Management? πŸ”„

Do you find your energy swinging noticeably throughout the day?

Do you sometimes wish you could manage your personal energy better?

What if you could identify and match up what you need to get done with your energy on any given day AND keep your to-do list from becoming a mile long?

The Workflow Energy Management Sheet brings together a visual framework for managing your energy for workflow efficiency, based on Energy Required and Energy Returned.

Who is this for?

This sheet is for people who've found that planning their day by time slot alone is not effective. Welcome...this sheet is unconventional for all my unique, punk-rock, divergent thinkers who know they can be organized, but haven't found a system that helped them retrain how they prioritize.

This method will assist in preventing burnout, because your energy is placed first for consideration.

By using this sheet you will be able to visually organize your tasks and sort in a several views including:

  • Grid Format based on Energy Required / Energy Returned πŸ”„
  • List view βΏ³

    • Estimated Dollar Value for each Task πŸ’΅πŸ’°πŸ’²
*This last view really helps you see what can make you the most $ in a glance!
    • Deadline Required πŸ“†
*Sort by deadline soonest or far away

    • Screen Time Required πŸ’»
*Sort by screen time. For those of us that are sensitive to screen time or need some flippin' work/life balance!

    • Time of Day View πŸ•š
*For those wanting to make sure they didn't overload 1 part of their day with an unrealistic amount of tasks.

    • Estimated Time in Minutes πŸ”’
*So you can get shorter tasks done when you find a spare 5, 10, 15 minutes here and there. You won't have to search for what tasks can be done that quickly and which ones require too much from you, when you may already be stressed.

So, why is this specific Google Sheet helpful for optimizing your day?

Well, have you ever used time-blocks in a calendar and then gotten to a specific time block but had NO energy to do what was in the block? πŸ₯΄

By using this Google Sheet, you will learn WHAT to do when your energy is in flux and stop losing time because you can't think of what to do, based on your energy level and time available.

Who created this Sheet and Why?

As a creative coach who has 20+ years of music performance and professional arts experience, I created this sheet with creative people in mind. πŸŽ¨πŸŽ΅πŸ“ΈπŸ©°πŸŽ§πŸŽ»

I found that I would make a mind map, but then have trouble prioritizing. I would prioritize, but then not be at full-speed when I got to the time allotted for an activity on any given day.

I would make all these darn lists and get overwhelmed by the list not being sorted based on what I wanted.

So...I created my own method and Google Sheet for helping me optimize my planning based on personal coaching method called, WORKFLOW ENERGY MANAGEMENT METHOD β„’

What's great about this Method & Sheet is:

  • You can use as many or as few of the labeling menus provided.
If you don't want to label all the tasks that require screen time with the dropdown menu, you don't have to! If you want to get detailed about each task, go right ahead inside the Grid view first, then sort by list view.

  • You can visually see what takes a lot from you, and what possibly can return to you in $ or fulfillment

  • You can sort by preferred method of viewing in List View.
    • Maybe one day you sort by $ value.
    • Maybe one day you only want to see non-screen tasks.
    • Maybe one day you only have a few pockets of 10 minutes at at time, no problem! Sort by time required and get those pesky short tasks knocked out.

  • You can use this sheet to plan WHAT you will place into a traditional calendar OR you can use it on it's own if you aren't keen on adding tasks to a calendar.

The Benefit of Managing your Workflow Energy: πŸ”„

This method and sheet can help you retrain your brain to prioritize and recognize all the work your are doing and whether you are getting a good return on energy.

When we tune into our energy we can become more efficient, we can raise our prices based on our workload or availability...

And we can live a more meaningful life because we aren't headed to burnout and overwhelm.
